Intercultural Awareness is sensitivity for problems (phenomena) that arise when representatives of differing cultures meet and communicate with one another. For the succes of international companies or organisations it is important that decision-makers are aware of their own culture as well as of the demands that strange markets and cultures place on them. In this way you are able to set realistic expectations and to act efficiently within the international context.
Intercultural Awareness can be acquired through purposeful sensitization and the development of emotional intelligence. Intercultural Awareness thereby enables your company or law firm to build up a unique competitive advantage. The awareness of your own attitudes and values is an important first step for the development of Intercultural Awareness. As a second step, knowledge of activity-directing value systems of your own and as well as other cultures enables correct interpretation of behaviour of partners from strange cultures and provides solutions for appropriate behaviour towards these partners.
It is this knowledge and the specially adapted presentations, role plays and simulations of negotiations that make up the basis for this seminar block.
